Choosing a color for what you're saying
Color is doing more work here than it looks like. A plain white notebook reads as neutral, useful, something anyone could use for anything.
Red pages carry a specific connotation instead, closer to romance or a personal statement than to functional writing.
The dual-tone options (red and black, white and black) exist for the situations in between, when you want something that feels
considered without going as bold as a full red notebook.
If you're buying for a partner or someone you're pursuing, red is the deliberate choice over white.
If the relationship is closer to respectful than romantic, a colleague, a mentor, an older relative, white or one of the dual-tone options reads more appropriate.
This isn't a hard rule, but it's the actual logic behind why Pelikas sells the same notebook concept in five different color combinations instead of one.
Not every color needs the same pen
One detail is easy to miss if you're comparing this collection to the black pages range: not every box here includes the same pen.
The Radiant Red Pages box, the Red & Black Pages Diary, and the White & Black Pages Diary all ship with the silver gel pen, because red and black pages both need pigment ink to actually show up.
The Luxurious White Pages Notebook Gift Box is the exception. It comes with a regular black pen instead, because white paper doesn't have the visibility problem dark or colored paper does.
Ordinary ink works fine on it. If you've looked at the black pages collection and assumed every notebook here needs a special pen, that's true for four of the five boxes, but not this one.
Which box fits who
Across the multicolour notebook gift box range, five real choices exist, and each one fits a different relationship or occasion.
- Radiant Red Pages Notebook Gift Box: red pages, silver gel pen and refill, perfume, feather, thank-you card. The pick for a romantic gesture, an anniversary, or someone you're actively courting.
- Red & Black Pages Diary Experience: dual-tone red and black pages, same accessories. Pelikas positions this one directly for a spouse, it's the boldest statement piece in the range.
- White & Black Pages Diary Gift Set: dual-tone white and black. The safer middle ground when you're not sure how bold to go, or when the recipient isn't someone you know well enough to read the color choice correctly.
- Luxurious White Pages Notebook Gift Box Set: plain white pages, the everyday black pen instead of gel. The most flexible option, and the one that still works if the recipient actually uses it for daily writing rather than keeping it as a memento.
- Red & White Pages Diary Collection: currently sold out. Worth checking back on if the dual-tone red option specifically is what you're after.
Picking a scent that actually fits
Every box in this collection ships with the same default 35ml Smart Black perfume, marketed as unisex.
In practice, at least one buyer who gifted the Red & Black Pages Diary Experience to a woman found the scent read more masculine than expected, and asked Pelikas directly for a way to choose something different.
That option already exists, it's just not automatic. Pelikas sells a dedicated men's fragrance and a women's fragrance separately, along with a broader fragrance collection.
If the gift is going to someone whose scent preference you already know, it's worth swapping the default perfume for one of those rather than assuming the included one will suit them.
Add-ons specific to this range
A few add-ons show up on these listings that aren't part of the black pages collection.
A golden gel pen upgrade is available if you'd rather have gold than silver, or want a second pen included.
A black wrap and ribbon gift-wrapping option is offered separately from the box itself, useful if the notebook is one part of a larger gift rather than the whole thing.
Cover customization and the customized card insert work the same way they do across the rest of Pelikas's notebook range.
